Victoria Cross Biographies

In 2012, we acquired the collection, The Facts Behind the Men, Behind the Medals, an encyclopedic work detailing the history of each Victoria Cross recipient.

Women’s Institute Tweedsmuir Histories Collection

The collection contains the histories, minute books, and other records from selected Women’s Institute chapters in the area: Consecon branch, Gilbert’s Mills, Mountainview, Picton, Prince Edward District, and Rednersville. These histories provide valuable ‘point in time’ stories of life in Prince Edward County.

Hastings County Land Abstract Books

The original abstract books were deposited in the Marilyn Adams Genealogical Research Centre (MAGRC) by the Government of Ontario. These original abstract books are available to view and date back to patent.

A collection of graveyard transcriptions, photographs and other information regarding cemeteries throughout Prince Edward County and nearby districts.

Marilyn Adams Museum (Marilyn’s Sitting Room)

An exhibit of some of the artifacts from the Adams’ home on the Bay of Quinte. Includes pieces from Marilyn Adams’ personal antique collection.
Hastings County Land Records

These original instruments instruments (such as mortgages and some wills) cover land transactions from 1867 to 1955. An index by name of the records is also available online. More…
Family History Collections

These collections go beyond genealogical data and include historical artifacts, photographs, documents, letters, books, in addition to research on family names like Barton, Brickman, Heal, Roblin and more.

Hessian Research of Johannes (John) Helmut Merz

In addition to his series of books on the Hessians in Canada, this collection includes email correspondence between Johannes Merz and information requesters from around the world.
Genealogical collections

Over 1,600 family genealogies are housed in our library. Most volumes are the results of work done by various family researchers and donated for the benefit of others. The Names Index database provides a way to discover records in this unique collection. More…

Other Hastings County land record collections

Other records of early Hastings County land records include assessment rolls and subdivision plan books for various townships.

Additionally, we hold the Tudor and Cashel township records dating back to 1852. These documents represent much of the records held by these townships prior to amalgamation.
