MAGRC is the repository for the Hastings County land abstracts, patent books, and post-confederation legal instruments related to land transactions. These original instruments instruments (such as mortgages and some wills) cover land transactions from 1867 to 1955.
An index by name of the records is also available online.
How to search
Search by name (surname, given name) to view a list of matches. Each match found displays the details of the index record: the name matched, the town or township, the property description and the instrument number.
You may come to the centre in person to view the documents and pages found or use the search tool to send us a list of the documents you’d like to have scanned and sent to you. Note that emailed requests are subject to a $30 research handling fee (includes scans of 5 deeds), plus the cost of additional scans ($5 per instrument).
