New improved bookstore

We’ve been hard at work to make some improvements to our online bookstore. Check out some of the new features:

  • Ability to filter the list various ways – a useful way to find something
  • Ability to add items to a shopping cart and pay online
  • Ability to request a shipping quote (before paying) by applying a coupon code

Try it out (the bookstore will open on a site hosted by Square).

Read our briefing information on how to use the site.

We are open on Saturday afternoons in August

In The County for a visit? Working during the week and would like to do some family research on the weekend? We will be opening on Saturday afternoons in August and all are welcome. There is no charge to research onsite – our volunteers are ready to help!

If you are planning a visit to do some family research, here are some things to consider:

  • We really appreciate a heads up that you’re coming and an idea of what you hoping to discover. Use our booking form to set up an appointment or email us at research@seventhtownresearch.com
  • Do a preliminary search using our Names or Land Records databases and submit the results to us. That way we can pull the items and have them ready for your visit.
  • You are welcome to bring your laptop or other device – that makes it easy to collect any digital items you might want to save.

Flashback February – Meet an ancestor

If you missed our live presentations on Tuesday February 21, don’t dismay. You can still meet Catherine Sprague and Jane Walmsley via recorded versions of their stories.

As a bonus feature, spend a little time with Al Watson, editor of the North Hastings Review, as he holds editorial meetings with his staff.
