Liz Jones came to MAGRC to research some early PEC ancestors. She never guessed that she instead would discover information about her Great-Uncle John Chipman "Chip" Kerr; who was awarded the Victoria Cross for extraordinary heroism in World War One. He also served in the RCAF in World War 2. (John married her Grandmother's sister)![]()
Kerr Mountain in Jasper National Park was named in his honour.![]()
Here Liz holds a bio outlining Pvt. Kerr's military service from our Victoria Cross Library, which is the only one of its kind in Canada.
