DESCRIPTION:Open only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. \nEdith D. Taylor Ashton’s 1996 book on the history of Dorland’s Creek and its mills is not only an exhaustively researched and comprehensive look into Hillier’s early days but also a wider glimpse of the early days of Prince Edward County. \nFollow in the footsteps of a historical author and gain an understanding of the breadth of research needed to accurately convey the stories of the past. This exhibit strives to showcase the historical references and artifacts that informed the book On the Edge of History and includes many examples of the reference materials used and those available in our collections and elsewhere. \nAdmission is by donation and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
